Here's a quick link to
a really beautiful, incredibly moving Valedictorian
Speech from the first African American Student in a decade to to give the Valedictorian
Speech at Booker J. Washington High School. If you have High School or Middle
School kids (as a parent or as a teacher), please share this with them -- I
showed my whole class... I have a group of 12th Graders, right now, and they
loved it, and I know you will, too! This will make you feel great about our
Next Generation! Uplifting!! _http://www.apsk12.org/media/VIDEO_PAGES/BTW_Val2010.html_

A FULL RIDE Scholarship!! (It's
probably not too late ... and you can always keep this in mind for next year:)
This is a great opportunity for any African American student who is interested in Architecture, and attaining a Degree in Architecture. Syracuse is a great place to live -- we used to drive through it every year on our way to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina! But, man, imagine a FULL RIDE Scholarship! So please, please, go ahead and apply if you think you, your child, or you know a student who might be interested in attaining a Degree in Architecture, on a Full Ride Scholarship, pass this info along. And as the Forward suggests, if you can post this at your church, or in your High School (or at your Career College Center... anywhere you think it will attract a young person interested in attaining a Degree in Architecture on a Full Ride Scholarship (you know for the Google Spiders, the information has to be written 3 times for easier recognition -- a little tip for those people who also have a website, and want to increase their traffic!), then please pass this along! Wow, 10 Full Ride Architectural Scholarships -- that's huuuge!!
FW: (This was Forwarded to me from my friend, Martin, who is a Career and College Counselor at a local High School in Los Angeles)
Please pass this along to "African Americans" especially because it's
been
harder to attract Blacks!! If you are not interested, please pass it along
to others as they may have family or friends that could benefit from this
information.
Please do not forget to post this advertisement in your church!
Sycracuse University has 10 Full Rides for African American Men and
Women
Interested in Studying Architecture. Mark Robbins, Dean of Syracuse
University's School of Architecture is desperately seeking young men and
women of color interested in pursuing a five year professional degree in
Architecture. He says he's deeply committed to bringing diversity to his
field and has scholarship money set aside to fully cover education costs
for 10 students. He says that Hispanic enrollment in the school has
increased substantially. But it's been harder to attract Blacks. Syracuse
University School of Architecture has a great reputation and this seems
like a terrific opportunity, so please pass this on to everyone you know.
